Before bbc became woke, great bit of writing and acting, listened to whole lot 3 times now, everything they publish now has shoehorned woke characters in even if not applicable to the story

This was bad. This was SO bad. Looking through the comments I agree on many things. The audio was of great quality, the main character was unenjoyable to listen to, in part to her writing and acting. But for me the story line after season 1 was convoluted, confusing, and seemed directionless....Read full review »

I’ve listened to tons and tons of audio dramas, and I’m sorry, this one is overhyped. The lead character is obnoxious. The constant damsel in distress screams were painful. But the ending of s1 was pretty unexpected. That said, the episodes could have been half as long. A lot of filler.

I don’t know if I can give a full review of this without spoiling but I’ll just say it was literally the best fiction podcast story I’ve listened to so far. The worst part about it was that it ended!

It’s a show about a lady who jumps to conclusions CONSTANTLY and it’s so annoying !!!!! Very hard to sit through but at the same time you want to know what’s going to happen but they just hear one thing automatically believe it without getting more information then later they are like “ hey we...Read full review »

So compelling. So well produced and acted, as I’ve come to expect from nearly all of BBC’s scripted audio. I really, really enjoyed this one. Only sorry that it, like all good things, had to come to an end.

It’s a well made and well acted show. It provides a dynamic soundscape for the listener, and the high stakes story bounces along… the problem I had with it was some of it - including what characters chose to do in high risk situations, and some of the plot developments - seemed fanciful and...Read full review »

I wish I knew about this earlier. Binged the whole thing in a week. For series 4, some of the episodes were missing from apple podcast so I just wen to the BBC radio website to listen to the first 5 episodes. I heard about tracks from r/audiodrama on reddit. I wish more people knew about...Read full review »

Great story, top notch acting, one of the most unlikable main characters I’ve come across. Well worth listening to. Edit: How is it that the first 3 episodes are missing from the last series? (abyss) Unfortunately I’ve given up listening to it as podcasts are suddenly made completely pointless...Read full review »

The conspiratorial aspect of the show drew me in but over time the story became morose, rhe protagonists unlikeable and the plot incomprehensible. The philosophizing was amateurish and excessively bleak. The constant child abuse of the little girl who travels with her mother was gross. And the...Read full review »

I breezed through every episode in about a week! I think I got more housework done than ever because I could not stop listening, so I figured I’d be productive. Amazing acting, enthralling story, just spectacularly done!!

Why not hire actual voice actors of Korean descent for that? The story is great but the “korean” voice acting is uncalled for.

Engaging story telling with compelling characters and Great actors. One of the best audible dramas I have listened too in a few years.

Great storyline and characters, also great music backing up the scenes from the likes of Portishead, Aphex Twin and Mastadon. Slightly suspect South Wales accents used in series 2 more than made up for in series 3 with proper Gogledd Cymru accepts and dialogue. Top marks and I ready to start...Read full review »

I was so into this series. Very well written, wonderful sound, and amazing actors. You truly cannot predict the next plot. Francis needs her season. I would give it more stars if I could.

Enjoyed the storyline but ended up having to listen to it on BBC Sounds because some episodes unavailable. Really disliked the main character and if this had been a tv programme I’d have given up on it because of her.

Binge listened. My free audio book player stopped working for a few days so happened upon this. Really enjoyed it. Will be searching out more radio 4 series as I enjoyed the way it is presented. Episode 3 introduces you to supposedly the “Koreans.” I don’t think they actually did any research or cast a Korean speaking person for the roles but has taken full liberty making an assumption of what a Korean accent is. It is inappropriate and insensitive.

A brilliant set of series - and highly addictive! A nice blend of sci-fi suspense, and philosophical enquiry interspersed with some lighter moments

Whilst brilliantly acted and produced, the principal character is just deeply unlikeable that you almost wish the endless list of misery and pain that happens to her would continue (but perhaps without actually having to listen to it). Perhaps the average Radio 4 listener may sympathise with a...Read full review »

I have enjoyed every moment of this. I’m sad that I am reaching the end. It’s brilliantly produced and wonderfully acted. I think the shorter format series were great and made a fantastic bridge between the longer series.

Excellent writing, performances and production. A reallyclassy thriller, with twists and turns worthy of a Tory Prime Minister during a global pandemic.

A near-perfect series. I couldn’t shut up about it; there is no doubt as to why it won the awards and accolades that it did—only, perhaps, why it hasn’t received more. Season three returned to the longer format, and made sense of the peculiar season two. With season four, we were back to the shorter episodes again.
