Description
How is one Virginia University creating new pathways of access to a four-year degree?  In this episode, we interview Sally Lorentson, Assistant Vice President for University Life at George Mason University. We learn about the ADVANCE program – an innovative partnership between Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University aimed at creating a streamlined and student centered transfer experience. We explore the critical role community colleges play as a gateway to a 4-year degree, using dialogue and participation to bring together disparate perspectives while creating allies, and dismantling antiquated systems to rebuild them in a more inclusive, student experience centered way.  Check out the Aspen Institute and the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students to learn more about advancements in the transfer student experience.   Have a question, comment, or a recommendation for a perfect guest?
