Like listening to your cool friends who travel all the time
I really like the format of the show. They have a topic, and then a bunch of really well-traveled people just have a conversation about their experiences and advice. They are NYC-centric, but I think they pretty well cover the difference preferences that travelers might have (i.e. looking for luxury, or a cheap last-minute trip, or that dream trip to Thailand, or whatever). I've found they put a lot of thought into their advice and recommendations. They're not just needlessly plugging companies, and aren't afraid to criticize or say some hyped thing isn't worth it. I'd love a sequel to the solo travel episode. I'm a twentysomething single female traveler who is not afraid to spend some money (I usually fly first class and have family vacations at Four Seasons). I work from home so my schedule is very flexible; however, all my friends either can't get away from work, or have small children, so they're not necessarily up for a two-week trip to Tokyo or Morocco. I would love to do something like that, but I'm afraid of navigating countries like that where there's substantial culture shock, and solo female travelers aren't necessarily the norm. I've looked into group tours that are aimed at younger people (Contiki, Intrepid, Topdeck, etc.) so I can be in a group (easier and safer to navigate, and you get some built-in friends), but I'm wary of those since they seem like might attract bros who just want to hook up and get drunk in a foreign country. So, are tours like that worth it?Read full review »

This is by far my favorite podcast! I’ve been listening for over a year now, and look forward to Friday, so that I can get my fix! My upcoming trip to Italy will definitely be even better, after listening to the recent podcast! Ciao! Skbare69

It’s so strange... the show is usually quite good... but travel is supposed to open your mind and make you more articulate and worldly, perhaps even sophisticated... and yet, these hosts typically sit around and curse like sailors. It’s one thing to get passionate, and throw in foul language...Read full review »
