Well done... A few things could be improved
I've probably listened to between 15-20 of these podcasts so I feel like I can actually comment somewhat coherently. Overall this is an enjoyable, very listenable podcast on miscellaneous issues related to travel. The "cast" is a rotating group of conde nast authors, contributors, podcast producers and occasional guests. Pros Generally good, interesting topic selections around different aspect of travel. It’s more general interest travel than destination guide focused (which I think is good) Appropriate use of outside guests (as experts). The hosts sort of grow on you over time. You begin to understand their specific likes and dislikes on many travel related issues Cons As others have noted it feels very urban Northeast and millennial focused and while this doesn’t bother me, occasionally it’s very clear I am getting a view of the world much different from my own. One of my favorite examples was when they were talking about Phoenix in the spring as a destination many people don’t think about. Of course, living in the Midwest it seems every third resident of the Chicago suburbs is travelling to Phoenix each March and April so the “not thought of” was one of those NY biases you don’t even realize you have. After a couple episodes the bumper music will make you want to pull your hair out (luckily it’s short) Sometimes the discussion seems to get “lost”. Sticking to a slightly more formal outline might help, especially for some more complex topics like the “how to” frequent flyer miles episodes If you are looking for a few to start with might I suggest the “Planning your first trip to Asia” or the group trip planning episodes. Totally different, but both very well done. Overall, great job and keep up the good workRead full review »

I want to listen to this podcast, but it makes me uncomfortable with its pretentiousness. I think especially the New York episode was so uncomfortably quaint and insular.

Hi there - love this podcast! Especially as someone who really doesn’t have any international travel experience, hearing about someone else’s experiences helps immensely. Could you get a Podcast going about tips for traveling solo? I’m a native Midwesterner and Chicagoan - so I would appreciate...Read full review »

I just listened to Things You Should Never do in a Hotel. Im glad you were all having a ball making this recording. Do you have any idea how annoying it is for the listener to try to listen when two of you are talking at the same time and a third is laughing loudly? Please, a little pity for...Read full review »
