Not necessarily about Star Trek
If you want a podcast about Star Trek TNG you will be disapointed. What wasn't made clear in the first few episodes but the hosts have addressed in later episodes is that their mission is to make a podcast where two funny women talk about their lives, pop culture, feminism, politics etc. and they use TNG episodes as a sort of conversation starter. They don't dive deep into Star Trek details, a lot of guests have never seen the show before, some guests don't watch the episode (once even a host didn't watch the episode) This means that there is a lot of explaining in the episodes and it's usually the same explanations which becomes annoying for a regular listener. They never dive deeper into the show. They have their theories and opinions... but it's a lot of the same stuff in each episode (Geordi is in pain, Troi was let down by the writers) these things are funny and interesting the first time... 26 episodes in... I'm sick of it. Veronica refers to the planet as downstairs, and that is truly hilarious and adorable, but stopping to explain the joke to the guest every time is annoying. A lot of their conversations are about feminism so it would be nice if they did a little research about the episodes to be able to have a fact based discussion but they don't. They say things like "I bet a man wrote this" and it would be nice if they took a second to look it up and confirm that. So go into it accepting that it is a podcast where two comics talk about stuff and Star Trek is in the background and you will propbably enjoy it. The two hosts are likeable and funny. They have made it very clear now that they are not doing the typical "fact based" Star Trek podcast which is fine. I hope they do a crossover episode with Women at Warp.Read full review »

I really love this show. I'm a straight cis white nerd dude, almost 50, and I am kind of sick of the male geek culture echo chamber. This show is great because Vero and Alice bring 100% LOVE AND PASSION to it, but they aren't bogged down with memorized lists of trivia. The feminist POV is...Read full review »

I love this pod. I've always watched Star Trek. I listen while I exercise and laugh loudly. I also watch People of Earth every week.Read full review »

Alice and Veronica offer a very strong new and original take on TNG, (which is easily the best of the Star Treks in my opinion) and it's not hard to love them. Their chemistry bubbles right away and carries the podcast through wonderfully awkward and silly conversation. The first two guests,...Read full review »
