Please can we have more episodes like this, I would certainly welcome hearing more from your French contributor who was excellent. Until this podcast I couldn’t understand what was going on, wrote to my French friend and she couldn’t explain it either. Thank you so much.

Great content but I wish she could get a word in between his lectures 😬 Comes across as very mansplainy, and means there’s no opportunity for the hosts to build & show chemistry or banter together.

Lovely pairing. Really enjoying contributions from both!

John is such a measured, thought-provoking individual. Why does he let Rachel talk to him so rudely? She hasn’t got a clue.

First this is a very good pod and has had some great guests. Loses a star after NHS episode. I have working knowledge of both primary care and economics. The idea that patients can shop around is - frankly - laughable. Also if you buy a dodgy car and it breaks down you don’t go back to the same...Read full review »

Please let us have more from John (thoughtful evidence based information and insights ) and less from Rachel (hectoring and spinning her position without evidence). She also unfortunately has a terribly piercing voice.

The podcast will help to understand the the welfare challenges to society as we have increasing demands.

As many others have said, the content of this podcast is great but the sound is all over the place. Rachel is clear but often it feels like she’s too close to the mic. This makes her loud and a little pitchy as her voice seems to be naturally quite high. John has the opposite problem, it sounds...Read full review »

Taking one star off because John Curtice is fantastically knowledgable but sounds like he’s broadcasting from inside a toilet! Please get a proper microphone so we can hear you properly. Really enjoy the non-partisan analysis (for the most part).

A data- and policy-rich politics podcast. A great listen.

Content wise spot on. But can someone help John with his microphone. Quality it not up to Tortoise usual standard.

This is a GREAT podcast with amazing insight, detail, knowledge and explanation but the sound quality is absolutely awful!

Keir Starmer or Starmer is fine, just like you say Sunak or Blair

To the point about the latest public opinion.

For someone interested in data, evidence and politics, this podcast is definitely for me. John and Rachel do a great job in guiding you through trends in public opinion on a variety of topics, helping to explain how the public may perceive recent political events and announcements. From climate...Read full review »

I love John Curtice but for me Rachel Wolf is grating. John seems to be pulling her back all the time or humouring her , i’m not sure I feel like she’s impartial enough.
Munkyfaz via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/30/23
Can’t go wrong if you have John Curtice giving the big picture on what the public are thinking vs other podcasts where pundits and politicians are suggesting what to think. A welcome addition to the politics podcast landscape.
