“One thing I've disliked about being an adult and parent of two is how my responsibilities have interfered with my own selfish desires. Chief among these is a desire to spend entire afternoons, nights, even entire days, reading as many books as I get my hands on. I simply haven't the time any longer to read, and certainly not anything gat takes great concentration.
This podcast has stepped in and filled that gap in my life. I've had Homer's Iliad on my shelf for 15 years, but every time I've tried to open it something always interferes. But nothing could stop this story! Jeff's ability to make the ancient tale relatable was a great treat. His post story explanations were fascinating and insightful.
Honestly, now that I'm finished the podcast I'm feeling bereft. I'd like nothing more than for Jeff to carry on with the next stage of the story...but Jeff needs to make a living.
So do us both a favour: hire Jeff to entertain your group in the oldest way humans are capable of, through an oral retelling of an ancient epic. His presentation is engaging, and he brings to life characters about whom we've all heard a little bit, but in ways that we weren't expecting.
