“I've been listening to this podcast for quite some time. I enjoy the content very much, but I have to say the presentation can be spotty at best sometimes. It really depends on which author Dan is interviewing. If the author is someone like Fred Rosen, forget it. The majority of the podcast will be about Rosen's political views and America hating rather than the great case his book was about.
If I could give any tips to Dan I'd say three things; 1) Wait to record any content until after you have the author on the line so you can avoid these awkward podcasts where the author doesn't show and you're just speaking off the cuff. Also, some post-recording editing would be welcome. There's points where Dan is asking the author a question and he rephrases the same question about three or four times before finally letting the author answer. 2) With author's like Rosen please, please, please work at keeping the interview on track and organized. No one tunes in to listen to politics, we have politcal podcasts for that. And, finally 3) Find a better descriptive term to use rather than using "incredible" and every turn.
Now that I've said that, this podcast really does focus on some quality authors who work hard to bring interesting stoires to the true crime genre. If you enjoy the content you sort of need to take the faults with the good aspects. I've been a loyal listener for a few years and I can say the presentation of the podcast hasn't changed, but maybe a few more reviews such as this will get through.”Read full review »

“The only one that I didn't like was the enterview with Fred Rosen, The author of bounced around to too many other topics and the host could not keep him on topic.”Read full review »
