Great Interviews make up for poor sound quality
The good things first: - This podcast has a wide variety of authors who are for the most part very well versed in the crime stories they write about. They are fascinating to listen to. - I appreciate the fact that the book title and the author are in the title so that if I am interested in purchasing/reading the book it is easy for me to find. - They do not waste time with meaningless banter or introduction and get right into the meat of the book. - The intro song is perfect for the podcast. The bad: - Sound quality is very poor. Sometimes when Zupansky starts talking I end up jumping because his sound ends up being so loud it is very startling. Additionally, I believe that it is done through skype so the sound is crackly and not clear. - There is no editing. Even when there is sound problems, which to be fair, the technical issues that plagued this podcast in the beginning has been resolved tremendously and does not happen nearly as often. It would be nice for when there are tech problems for that section to be taken out rather than having to listen to dead air or Zupansky trying to correct these issues. - In terms of an interviewer: Zupansky is hit or miss. Sometimes he ends up interrupting the guest, but to be fair, since it is over the computer, there is sometimes a lag, but it is still rather jarring. Plus, I find it difficult to listen to him due to his frequent stuttering. It isn't bad enough to make me stop listening to the podcast, but if I find that he does an episode by himself, I do not listen. I do recommend this podcast for True Crime lovers who maybe have only heard of Anne Rule. Zupansky has gotten a great variety of writers who tell their stories very well and as a result of this podcast, I have bought some of the books.Read full review »

One of the best podcasts I listen to. I think Dan is extremely professional and I have even bought the books written by some of the authors he interviews. Would recommend this podcast to anyone interested in true crime.
