“This guy keeps referring to himself as an ‘investigator’ and draws parallels between his job as a fireman that investigates the origin of fire on a scene as somehow a way to qualify his position to assert his speculations on who killed Hae Lee (i.e., Jay—this is not in question for the host), but he is just some dude caught up in the Serial fray, espousing his water cooler theories of the crime with having done none of the exhaustive research done by Sarah in the original Serial podcast (he admits to listening to other podcasts as his primary method of research while he is driving in his car). It’s a free country and anyone should be able to conduct their own podcast and make something entertaining, but when it gets this much public attention and involves the lives of real people, whose reputations are being defamed by the flippant accusations of the host, it is, in my opinion, nothing more than fodder that would comprise Sarah’s “cheesy detective novel". AT best, this is a trash mag waste of time, at worst, it is doing real damage to those people involved in this case.”Read full review »
