Bring back Jimbo
Pretentious beyond belief. Jimbo at least gave a counterbalance to the naval gazing. More ‘trouble at Milne’ type puns, and less Carl Anka inflecting his speech like a fat schoolgirl discussing her feelings over a bottle of Lambrini... I love it when people have a different opinion to me on films but, too often, there is no opinion on the film under review. Instead we get inane pronouncements about the reviewer’s view on the world. For example, is it valid film criticism to dismiss The Death of Stalin because it’s about, well, the ‘low hanging fruit’ that is the death of Stalin? I suspect the irony of such criticism is lost on the A level student who made it on the podcast and was presented to me, the listener, as an expert…
