“I find Holly Rotschild's story not just strange but terribly disturbing. The story itself is weird - father performing autopsies and little Holly riding around with tricycle. Autopsy in your garage? I know she is from little bitty town where your barber is also your gynecologist but God, why?? Ms. Rotschild cheerfully tells a story about prisoners in dehumanizing, terrible condition. I don't know what's more strange - the story or the storyteller who seems to be completely disconnected from this world. I appreciate the uniqueness of her childhood - just how many people do know who have a father performing autopsy in your own garage? I was fascinated by her story. More fascinating was how she laughed through out the story. Why am I not finding her story funny? I feel like I was listening to someone describing seeing a dead body and laughing about it. In fact Ms. Rothschild was describing dead bodies in her garage. I think I missed the point....what does she find so funny I wonder....Is the point of this program about strange stories or disburting storytellers? I'm confused....it's creepy.”Read full review »

“This is a really interesting concept. Some of the episodes aren't produced as well and can be hard to understand, but others are fantastic and deeply moving. Definitely worth listening.”Read full review »
