Description
The son of a bus driver, the son of an immigrant, but that’s as far as the political clichés go. One of 8 children, he would go on to become the first Muslim mayor of a Western capital, with the largest personal mandate of any politician in Britain. Within months of taking office, his city, London, experienced three fatal terrorist attacks; at least 72 people died in the Grenfell fire; the UK voted to leave the European Union; and the then-president of the United States Donald Trump called him a “pathetic excuse” for a mayor. Seven years later he is seeking a record-breaking third term. Our guest is Sadiq Khan. Presenter: Oli Dugmore Producer: Laura Beveridge Production: Spiritland Productions Hosted on Acast.
