Fascinating story - Ugly journalism.
The story is, of course, fascinating and terrible in equal measure. But this podcast also exposes how impersonal journalists are, how dreadful they can be during such tragic periods of time. Even with the passage of time, Howard doesnt seem to grasp the ugly nature of his job and his approach to people.

The content is interesting but some of the tapes are nearly impossible to understand, making it difficult to listen to. The host does note this in the beginning, but I’d rather just listen to him narrate the story himself without as much of the tapes.

I was fascinated by this story. It was told well! The narrator played the original tapes from 25+ yrs ago and explained that they were at times difficult to understand but he would explain what they’d said afterward, which he did. Thank you for such an interesting series.

The recordings that are often difficult to understand aren’t worth sharing in the podcast. A synopsis of such recordings would be much less frustrating. I feel like I’m wasting my time sitting through the muffled sounds of conversations.
