Description
Hailing from the mountains of Afghanistan, Rahila defied Taliban control to attend school - a men only affair - at the age of six. When she was caught, her parents were threatened with death and she was smuggled across the Afghani border to Pakistan. She eventually made it to Australia as an asylum seeker and has since become an advocate for Muslim rights and an International Peace Ambassador, speaking frequently at Youth Peace Summits globally, most notably at the United Nations Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
