Irreverent, Always Interesting
I enjoy this podcast very much. They discuss Jewish topics with a sense of fun and irreverence. I especially appreciate that one of the hosts is an actual right-wing (by American standards) Israeli, now living in the US and an NRA member. Most Panoply "2-or-3-people-around-a-mic" podcasts feature hosts who are more-or-less all of the same opinions/backgrounds (cf: Culture Gabfest, Political Gabfest), so it is refreshing to get a different perspective. My only criticism is that part of the Gentile-of-the-Week segment involves the “gentile” asking a question about Judaism for which, 9 times out of the 10, the hosts are unable to provide an informed response. Why can’t they ask for the question in advance of the interview and actually be prepared with an answer? Obviously, if the 3 Jewish panelists don’t know the answer, MANY Jews probably don’t know the answer, so take the time to find out and educate us, please!Read full review »

I enjoy Unorthodox because Mark, Stephanie and Liel are smart, funny, informed and obviously like and respect each other. They never bog down but keep the conversations and topics moving. All three are great interviewers and do not talk over each other.
