“I rewatch Scandal every so often (thanks Disney+!), so when I found out about this podcast, I was super-excited. But it's turned out to be SUCH a disappointment. I wasn't even sad when the writer's and actor's strike put it on pause, because by then I'd stopped downloading it.
This isn't a re-watch podcast; this is just Guillermo and Katie yapping about stuff that more often than not, has nothing to do with the episode. So very often, I was waiting for some specific insight or comment on a particular scene or line...but then Katie drops another f-bomb and Guillermo goes "I don't know", and I get annoyed.
The last straw for me, was Katie's comment about the 'Sally Hemmings/Thomas Jefferson' bit, and her COMPLETELY misunderstanding that true dynamic and what Shonda really meant when she wrote that. Instead, she was basically like "Awww, it's so cute." So I unsubscribed.
But then a friend told me there was an interview with Columbus, so I came back to download that and that alone. However, given their (not great) interview skills and how they've dealt with previous guests, I don't hold out much hope.
Look, I don't doubt their enthusiasm and their friendship is lovely. But this podcast is unfocused and not a true rewatch series. Such a wasted opportunity.”Read full review »
