Best of 2023!
I’ve anticipated each week’s episode unlike any other podcast in such a long time. Devastating, shocking, enlightening, incredible investigation, brilliant storytelling, heartbreaking interviews that at times had me in tears with them. Nothing can compete with this podcast. I’m calling it now, this is the best podcast of 2023, and I hope it receives the acknowledgment it rightfully deserves. Thank you for making such a wonderful investigative series telling these stories in such a respectful and palatable way. By presenting an unwaveringly objective yet extremely urgent story, just in time given the age of the remaining survivors, which is an incredible feat given the subject matter and the unimaginable weight it is to bare the responsibility of telling it for these brave souls — you’ve reached listeners of all generations on a profound humanistic level. Cognitive dissonance defenses can’t go up when listening to this storytelling and reporting. Hearing the child voice speak from deep inside the survivors as they recounted the hardest thing they’ve ever gone thru, the hardest thing any child or adult can go thru, chokes me up just writing about it here. I relate to it, even though my story is not their story. The compassion and empathy and care with which this story is told, gives it the loudest and most profound voice. I keep refreshing my feed hoping it’s not over.

Wow
So very grateful for how detailed, intentional and expansive this story is. We need these types of stories that connect capitalism with the atrocities that happen down south as Michele Alexander said something similar in her book South To America. I could say so much more, because you all are...Read full review »

The stories set out in this podcast are so very difficult to listen to, but as a society, we need to hear them and do better for our children.
