“I'm really underwhelmed by the way in which this fascinating story is told. The reporter manages to make this narrative less interesting in the way that she speaks like she's recounting it to a friend, in the order in which the facts are revealed, her inability to get the most important interviews, and the redundancy of it. The episodes are short - there seems to be a lot of content, so I can't understand why the first and last few minutes of each show are just repeats of what has happened and what's to come. Maybe she's new to the medium, but she also doesn't need to recount the story up until the point in every episode - especially with the repetitive clips. I'm not going to insult her vocal fry because I think that's irrelevant, and doesn't bother me. It's not excessive, and it doesn't take away from the reporting. I just wish that if she were going to tell the story in such a casual way that she'd insert herself more and become part of the narrative, or tell the story completely objectively. This is a weird in between that I feel like if she was more confident in her voice, it could really be used to her advantage. Anyway, I'm insulting a free podcast, and I realize how terrible that makes me. I was just rooting for this to be good. But I'm grateful for the free content- ad-free too I think - so it's really none of my business.”Read full review »

“Narration is poor and episodes are short. This could be interesting if a more skilled presenter were at the helm. Instead, we get someone that's got very little content and is trying to spread it over several episodes. Take a pass on this one.”Read full review »

“I have to say I did enjoy a number of parts of this podcast! It’s a very interested story! I wish they didn’t use so many clips multiple times because I felt like I was hearing the same information again and again and again… Compared to Serial, it felt like a very basic level podcast. You could...”Read full review »

“This is not Serial; the storyteller is not Sarah Koenig. If you're expecting to enter into a story like Sarah tells, you'll be disappointed. However, this is an interesting case with lots of twists and turns that's worth listening to if you can get past the narrators, at times,...”Read full review »
