Evidence? What actually happened?
I’m on episode one and it sounds like a person had a serious mental health issue that coincided with getting interested in meditation. There is zero explanation so far of how the meditation retreat “did” this to Emily. Maybe there wasn’t duty of care, but meditation cannot “remove” your personality or ruin your life in this way. What is the mechanism of action? They keep insisting she was happy and had no mental health issues before meditation, but in her younger years she was partying till 4am, working a job and passing straight a’s, then went to Oxford and struggled, then went on retreat and felt like she wasn’t “good enough at it”. It sounds like she was under a huge amount of pressure from within.
