....but the characters need to be slapped on the regular...OMG. The guy that works at the boarding house is irritating AF, and the main characters mother? Wow, she would test the patience of our Savior himself. I think it has potential, but there needs to be more plot development, more story details. Right now, the story seems very topical and doesn't really seem to do much. From the title, I'm not sure where in the story there is any "midwestern Gothic"....maybe season 2 (if there will be one) will be better?Read full review »

It’s as if someone challenged them to take the PRO out of protagonist. The main character imposes her neurotic behavior on every other character, at one point throwing everyone’s dinner out a car window. And then she somehow becomes even LESS likable! I like it but god, Lillian is so hard to like. Maybe as the story progresses I’ll grow to like her but she’s actually rude and annoying

Only 2 episodes in and already I am hooked. Each character is unique and extremely well acted. The sound design is excellent. Not sure where it’s going but I am definitely here for the ride
