Host lacks empathy and insight
Like others have mentioned, I found the host very insensitive and self-involved at times. The ‘cool story’ comment from the jump and his self reported motivations for pursuing the story were the first red flag. There were other moments that elicit eye rolls but the mental health stuff was the final straw for me. When speaking about the suicide of a man claiming to be connected to the case, he uses the words ‘crazy’ and ‘crazy person.’ He shows a stunning lack of basic knowledge on the topic and then gets a friend who is a doctor to speak on it who, it becomes apparent, also has a profoundly insufficient basic understanding. The expert they brought in later was a step up, but I couldn’t help but cringe at the hosts’ questions and summaries of what she said.

This podcast is really well done and addicting because of its real time nature. It's a confusing story but so well told that it's easy to follow and keep track of who's who. Definitely a 5 star!Read full review »
