“This podcast is hosted by two of the nicest people in tech. But I think it’s worth taking the time to offer a critique, while it’s still young and in its early days. First, the positive, once the hosts get to the actual content of the show, everything is wonderful and very informative. Jason is very experienced, and has unique insight - and I’m always fascinated by his unique perspective on tech issues, especially Apple. But the problem is, it takes the hosts sooooo long to get to the content. They ramble on about nothing at all, as if they’re having a conversation with each other, as opposed to presenting a show to the public. Occasionally, the tangents lead to some interesting info, but for the most part it’s really hard to listen to. Second, I want to mention that I was initially under the impression that this was an Apple show. It’s definitely not. It’s a tech show. That’s totally fine. But I think you guys should decide whether you’re going to focus on Apple or tech. Because frankly, during some of the big announcements, there wasn't as much detailed info about Apple as I would have liked. And now that Apple’s fall announcement have passed, Apple hardly comes up at all.
Ok this last bit is just my fantasy, ok? Here goes! I really love it when tech journalists talk big picture. I like it when they talk about where things are going. I like it when they’re critical of tech companies too. Because a lot of Apple podcasts do nothing but praise Apple. I make my living using Apple products, so I experience Apple shortcoming everyday. “Of late they have been missing their release deadlines, and its all getting a bit samey and predictable.
Maybe need to spin-off UpStream to its own show and retire this one.”
