5 minutes of content packed into 35
Interesting content, but the story is being milked for all it’s worth. The episodes are about 30 minutes long and include at least 15 minutes of ads and a 9-minute behind-the-scenes humble-brag follow-up to each episode where the podcast hosts discuss their amazing lifestyles (“working on a story about a girl in Mexico who lived in a dumpster, but was the greatest math mind in a generation”, yadayadayada), leaving about 5 to 8 minutes of actual storytelling per episode. Also, I’m pretty sure this story, or at least one very similar, has been covered about 20 times starting with the Cocaine Cowboys. Kind of a bore actually. Listen when you’ve run out of podcasts on your playlist and abandon as soon as something like the “Complete History of Minnesota’s Needlepoint Craze” is released.
