This should be required listening for millennials
We need more time in the weeds and to get better at supporting/challenging our assertions with evidence. This podcast is like chatting about issues with your smart friends who read a lot of research - accessible and pleasant, but informative and thought provoking. I didn't think I could have any new ideas about the gun control debate, but that discussion's elucidating parallels and fresh insights left me with a lot to mull over. Their discussions are slavish neither to the speculative or the empirical, and they allow room to follow new threads as they arise. I love that when discussing a study, they provide context and spend time on what it doesn't ask or doesn't answer. The segment on the Canadian Pre-K experiment was unexpectedly compelling. Feedback: Would love: 1. Detailed show notes with timestamps (for forcing my friends into listening to segments). 2. A release schedule (to avoid the Charlie Brown music I hear in my head every day when I refresh my feed and find nothing). 3. More more more! Segments on drone strikes and foreign intervention, criminal justice reform, more on the impact of lobbying we may not think of, like the other NRA, whether term limits and redistricting would change as much as people claim, how to measure teacher effectiveness... (I am getting greedy).Read full review »
