Pay attention to how Sam talks abouts Islam. He is totally fine with bombing Middle East countries based purely on their beliefs. He ignores other factors that also lead to their actions. He has defended racial profiling at airports (i.e., he believes all brown people, as an official policy,...Read full review »

I can’t listen to him anymore. This is a massacre that keeps going. It’s not ok. Your not ok. Reach out when you wake up.

Hi Sam, this is Brandon. First time, long time. Hey, listen bud, can we get some new intro music? Or none. Just my two cents. Thank you 🙏

Where’s your snapshot of the Israeli Zionists lifestyle and culture who brag and torture corpses on videos? You’re so far off base here. Extremism on all sides is wrong and you focusing so heavily on that of Islam is very telling. You also shared misinformation which is extremely harmful.

I have long respected Sam’s inquisitive approach and opinions on wide ranging topics. However, more and more it feels like he is unable to step outside his personal world views for an objective perspective. I am an atheist, and I find it very difficult to hear him talk about antisemitism (which...Read full review »

Episode 340 is a sad contortionist spectacle, as Sam bends backwards and crawls even further up his own bowels to find a putrid justification for grotesque tribal revenge. Zero logical, philosophical, moral, ethical clarity here.

Thank you for framing this background. How so many diverse groups in the west choose to come out after a disaster like this and throw their weight against Israel is horrifying. Where are they on all the issues in the Muslim world? Silent. No idea how the left coalesced in picking Israel as...Read full review »

I highly recommend ep 340. There is a lot of culture misappropriation happening with respect to what’s going on in the Middle East. Sam Harris lays out a compelling framework to understand how we should think about our current landscape

Used to be a big fan but since he called me a antisemite and terrorist sympathizer because I don’t agree with the benefit of carpet bombing Palestine I found it hard to listen to his podcast without being annoyed. So I will be cancelling my Waking Up and making sense subscriptions.

Listening to expisode 340, Sam goes through acres of discussion regarding the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Apparently, so long as you try to minimize damage, killing innocent civilians is unfortunate, but OK. No, Sam. Killing kids is not OK. Your justifications at any level do not...Read full review »

As a child I knew what I wasn’t. I never knew what I was because I was never taught the truth. People only ever told me lies. I had stumbled upon Sam Harris in my early twenties and I realized that I was not alone. Sam is a true role model in the humanistic world view.

For you deep view and how you share the underlying belief of Islamic jihad. I of the liberal west find it incomprehensible that humans could have such hatred of life itself, and revel in savage killing. It's an emotional topic, and I love Sam but to me he goes off the rails here, unfortunately making one of the most complex issues in the world into "good and evil" (puke), and insinuating that people who are concerned about innocent Palestinians are supporting savage baby killers and...Read full review »

I have been a long-time intermittent listener, and always valued Sam’s perspective – usually a voice of clarity in a chaotic time; occasionally voicing a perspective I can’t agree with, but always articulated clearly enough that it clarifies my own point of view. Sam Harris has the ability to communicate truthful sane common sense.Years ago, the brave Sam Harris wrote a book, Letters to a Christian Nation—it is even more relevant now, than ever before. This is an amazing podcast and Harris’ books are all good reads.

Most of these one star reviews represent the very reason I subscribe! Some people (not all) are disingenuous and ridiculous, which is why it’s nice to hear from a sane, rational person like Sam. He is intelligent and fair. You don’t have to agree with every single word he ever says and he doesn’t...Read full review »

Sam Harris' intellect is ostensibly less on full display when addressing certain people and issues that are personal to him. In one respect, it is personable and charming. In another it seems too personal and he fails to find his perch above the fray. When such a prodigious intellect is...Read full review »

This was one of my favorite podcasts once. Now it’s just Sam monologuing to his guests, trying to get them to cosign his positions. Who decided that it’s a good format for a show to have a host do most of the talking with occasional breaks for his guests to react to what he just said?

Harris is just a massive tool for the state. He openly backs up government lies, even when these lies have been proven, on record, to be BS… he still tries to make these lies true. A total dick….

I think I know why Sam hates Trump so much: because he’s just like him and can’t stand the reflection! I think he would crumble up an die if he uttered the words “I was wrong.” It’s also amazing to watch him critique religious fundamentalism and then engage in some of the most extreme...Read full review »

Sam: “I don’t suffer from Trump-ism!” Every podcast: “now before we get started on todays topic I want to address some recent tweets that I’ve received criticism on, the criticism mostly comes from Trump-stans” Sam’s a hypocrite. Plain and simple. A calculated, manipulator of the truth.
