I get furious every time I hear about this attack on our ship the USS Liberty. with the loss of life and the cover up by our government. It’s bull crap.

Decent podcast but they selected very distracting background music and it’s way too loud and at times is almost as loud as the talking. I just gave up after 3 episodes.
Randy in Georgia via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/21/20
Turn the music off, it’s terrible and not needed. Your stories are just fine without it. It’s hard to focus on your words with screeching saxophone over the top. Apart from that, great.

Were there 2 John Bradley’s who served as Navy Corpsmen on Iwo Jima? In the episode on blood transfusions you mention a John Bradley who won the MOH on Iwo. Is this the same John Bradley who was miss identified as one of the flag raiders? Or are you guys terrible at checking your facts? With...Read full review »

Enjoy the podcasts, but drop the annoying background music. Plays havoc with people who are hard of hearing.

Holy crap, don’t have music with vocals playing in the background (at full volume) for the first minute that you’re talking

I found War Stories while looking for military-related podcasts, having been an ametuer student of the subject since childhood (not a veteran). I found their approach to the their subject matter engaging - it often felt like being at a table with friends engaged in a discussion - very well...Read full review »

You 2 bring a sense of humor and an interesting take on facets of warfare. I have been following angry staff for a while and enjoying his take on thinks. Great interplay betweeen the 2 of you. We can tell how enthusiastic you both are.

Compared to Pritzker Military Museum and Warriors in their own words this podcast is not good. The few episodes that I listened to were more about questing the credibility of the subject they were talking about or trying figure out technically just what is a sniper. TJ

They’re knowledgeable of the field, but their insight was less than impressive.

Aiden and “Angry Staff Officer” (whoever you actually are, considering there are so many of you) have created the most easily digestible history class with this podcast. I started listening at the recommendation of my OIC (another angry staff officer), and I am hooked. If you are searching for a...Read full review »

I keep checking for new episodes; hope Adin and ASO find the time and the means to craft more episodes. Hope thay can find a way to at least keep the Loose Rounds installments going even if they cannot make an entire third season happen.

This is one of the best podcasts covering war history. The guys do a great job! Thanks!!!

Angry Staff Officer and Aiden Dobkin have a great grasp of past present and future military tactics and have the ability to tell a fine tale. Their podcast is as good as the Angry Staff Officer’s blog. Hope to hear more soon.

If you are researching anything about logistics, WWI or II, tanks, etc, these 2 are worth a listen. Presenters obviously love their subjects and have researched enough to make their discussions accessible for multiple levels of interest. Segues can be surprising yet are still full of gems.

I eagerly await each episode. The research and writing are fantastic, the interractions between ASO and Adin make you chuckle, or even laugh out loud. If you listen to one, you will definitely want to listen to the rest!

I’m starting off in eason two. I appreciate the approach, as War Stories takes a very focused aspect of history (e.g. the rifle) and puts it into the larger context of history, early military organization, application in tactics, effect on operations, etc. I appreciate this application of history...Read full review »

A lot of good content, some things that pop up are “no duh” moments for history fans but overall these guys do a great job. Would have left more stars but the Braddock episode had the most aweful jazz background music ever. The high pitched squealing of the saxophone while they are trying to...Read full review »

Interesting and informative. Really enjoyable, My only negative comment, and I’m late to this podcast so it may have been addressed, the back ground music is like a cross between seedy jazz club and new age massage parlor. Either lost it all together or turn the levels way down. Otherwise keep up...Read full review »

The format is somewhat unusual as the narration alternates between the two hosts and at times almost turns into a dialogue. The first two seasons each had an overarching theme, last seasons was armor (as in tanks, not the medieval personal variety), while this year it's snipers and within the...Read full review »

They get down into the details of some obscure, but ultimately significant millitary subjects. It's not the common overview of pop-history so prevalent now. If you're interested in not just the what, but the how and why, this podcast is for you.Read full review »

I happened upon this by accident while looking for something on the inhumanity of men in war. While this isn’t that, it is storytelling at its finest. Appears to be very well researched, is like butter to your ears it’s so easy to listen to, and the chemistry between the hosts is obvious at a gut...Read full review »
