“I was really looking forward to this podcast. Sorry, I’m not a hater on reviews but I have to give this a big thumbs down. This was a very bazar juxtaposition of light hearted silly and not funny scripted commentary weaved into what was a very interesting story by the guest. I endured the whole show because I was drawn into the narrative but I found myself more and more annoyed by the senseless banter. The background facts added were very helpful but making light of what the storyteller was saying felt like laughing during a eulogy. I suspect doing the podcast this way was carefully thought through but it amounts to laughing and making fun of someone else’s deep misfortune.
I’m anything but a snob and enjoy a laugh as much as the next person but you guys really missed the mark here. It sounded like you have both been in cults and you are likely the right hosts but how about a hard reset? Please try again. I think you have a great opportunity here to give people a chance to share their stories, heal a little bit and probably help people that are either being, or have been, victimized.”
