Description
CT5510. Master course on design and planning of the urban water management system. It deals with fluxes and processes in water and soil. Furthermore, aspects of water management policy development are discussed. This is the second part of this course on water management in urban areas dealing with the design phase. In order to create a civil engineering design of an urban area from scratch, two basic components are needed: Objectives and design loads. The objectives are based on an ambition or vision which gives a qualitative expression of them. This vision is put into quantitative standards and requirements which can be combined with the design loads to form the elements in the design phase. The design loads are retrieved from the underlying processes and their probability distribution.
