“I had been a long time fan of both Nick "Yruleroftime" Freeman and Chris "Rollot" Larios and I had been listening to every episode of this podcast from the day Chris started. It is such a pleasure listening to the guys joke about and discuss all things concerned with wrestling week in and week out. It is incredibly fun to hear the two go at it none stop at times even though, initially, I was always half confused about what they were talking about. Nowadays though, I'm only confused 30% of the time, so clearly they must be doing something right! And I'm not even a wrestling fan!
Of course, the wrestling portion makes up only a small percentage of the podcast. The main attraction is hearing discuss in depth about manga. It might seem amazing that the most straightforward dialogue occurs when they are talking about Japanese comics that read backwards, but it is in no small part due to how fantastic Chris and Nic are as hosts.
No matter what series they are reading, they will always give their honest thoughts through insightful and funny commentary (or in some cases, accidentally profound revelations whenever they joke around or talk about wrestling). Nik is an excellent speaker who will go in depth about the recommendations they read based on listeners suggestions, and Chris is a kind funny man who will always have a good joke under his belt and additional insight to add every week. The two play off each other beautifully, almost like one of the hosts was Chris and the other Rollot. Or was that Nicolas and Yruleroftime?
As a long time fan, I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who has any interest in manga and is looking for a podcast that has a unique identity of its own and isn't afraid to pull any punches. Well, maybe not any grandmothers out there, because some the World Trigger discussions can get ... Messy.
