Ok, not great
The music is wonderful. Everything else is ok at best, but put together, still makes for reasonable listening fare (hence four stars). Structure and concept are good, as is the general sound design. Unfortunately, listening to episodes back-to-back, it feels empty. There are trigger warnings and an unusually large number of (seemingly) shocking deaths. They’re presented with near flat affect, at a glacial pace. Some ‘slow burn’ presentations work, some come across as tedious; the end result of this is a dull podcast. How can this material seem dull? Sticking with it in the hope it improves. There’s a lot going for it - hope it pays off...
