The show really grew on. It started a bit, “Oh, this is interesting,” and then it was suddenly addictive.

Lately I’ve had to spend a lot of time in the car, so I’ve taken up horror fiction podcasts. I found a big list of them, wrote them all down, folded them up, put them in a bag, shook it up, and, well, here we are - the first one I pulled was Weeping Cedars. That’s both a blessing and a curse. The...Read full review »

The unironic obsession with gender/identity stuff is kind of cringe and feels like a political shoehorn in an audio drama that was supposed to be a horror mockumentary. Lee (the narrator) is very narcissistic and pretentious for someone that’s making a weekly documentary about something other...Read full review »

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire story and the deliberate pacing. Gives you plenty to think about.

Eh
Season one was great I genuinely liked it . Season two just felt all over the place.

First listened to this show in a haze of horror podcasts mid-pandemic and recently returned to listen again and found it even better the second time thru. Recommend following up the creator’s other recent pod “Samite” for related story.

I'm hugely excited for this brand new horror audio drama. Weeping Cedars is an amazingly creative idea. I can't wait to see how this unfolds. If you're a fan of shows like Alice Isn't Dead or Welcome to Nightvale, you will NOT want to miss Weeping Cedars! *UPDATE* September...Read full review »

Original podcast was very interesting and had some depth but where did that go ? Just drop everything and now it’s a cheesy private eye melodrama ?
Gglymgly via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/31/22
Original, well-written and relatively balanced. The true horror reveals itself when starting in the first episode, it’s revealed that some sneak-thief must have broken in, stolen the script and replaced every occurrence of the word “she” with the word “they” just before going to...Read full review »

Really really enjoyed this podcast. Listened to as a bedtime story! And loved the way it was split into different sub sections, especially the nightly news. I’m wondering is this the end…

Came here for a Voice From Darkness podcast, so I had faith to stay through the first couple dry episodes. It was worth it!!! The beginning episodes establish how it should be mundane, but every episode after digs deeper into the eerie history of the town and “facts” not adding up. A clever,...Read full review »

I especially love the radio broadcasts. Emma’s delivery is perfect. But in season two Clarence and his gossip corner is gone. He was great!

I love the lore of this fictional town and being introduced to it through so many different perspectives and tales. I listened a lot while hiking or walking through the woods - would definitely recommend finding a similarly serene and potentially eerie listening space for full spooky effect....Read full review »

Well acted, brilliantly scripted, and mind bendingly (not a word until now but I claim it) plotted. I’m on my third listen and continue to find little hints and connections I’ve missed before. Season three can’t get here fast enough!

Do you love well made, brilliantly written, nicely acted podcasts? Then you've come to the right place! This podcast ticks all the boxes for me, especially since I've always loved a good slow burn story that doesn't just give you all the details up front, and I'm anxiously...Read full review »

If you're up for fast paced horror action with lots of sound effects and jump scares, this show isn't for you. But if you like a (very) slow build of creepy history and suggestsions about things that are wrong in an old town, you might really like Weeping Cedars!Read full review »

I really enjoy the story and how it’s unfolding- or how it’s bringing up a new set of questions. And then we get to the finale. Not the S02 historical podcast, which tried to pull together a hypothesis on the town, it’s stories and it’s short term memory, but the one with girl on the phone and...Read full review »

I honestly wish I hadn’t started this podcast. I listened to the end hoping it would get better, but to no avail. The only saving grace were the news reports. Please give me back the hours I spent listening to this!
Onlyinmydreams via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/13/21
season one was delightfully spooky and interesting, but season two is terribly and tragically boring- is begging the creators to bring us back to a spooky small town and away from BBC documentary! PLEASE

But love the voice actors and presentation. News at night is my favorite part...
MsTimory via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/16/20
The news is my favorite, I could listen to the actor doing that segment all day! I also like how it switches back and fourth on the type of episodes. I do miss the gossip segment, it was really funny and had a great contrast to the rest of the show. But overall it’s great

I really love the work this team puts in. It’s spooky but oh so atmospheric and the writing and acting is superb. Additionally, they do a good job or putting out episodes on a regular schedule during the season. Highly recommend!

In cozy Weeping Cedars people sometimes die. En masse. Frequently. Violently. Nothing to worry about. Well acted, quiet horror podcast, rich with in-universe lore and history.

I love the structure and how the different layers unfold with every episode.

Took me awhile to come around but this absolutely one of my favorite shows now. The voice acting is subtle (probably like a real small town documentary crew would be?) but I’ve found that firstly super relaxing and secondly motivating of re-listens to catch details I missed before. Also, I listen...Read full review »

The music is wonderful. Everything else is ok at best, but put together, still makes for reasonable listening fare (hence four stars). Structure and concept are good, as is the general sound design. Unfortunately, listening to episodes back-to-back, it feels empty. There are trigger...Read full review »

Weeping Cedars is a must for those into high quality, audio drama/horror. With each passing episode it keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait for season 2.

I cannot believe Weeping Cedars has so few reviews. This is hands-down one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. Great voice acting, FANTASTIC writing, and good focus. My one quibble, if you could call it that, is that it seems Riley and Emma both refer to Lee with the pronoun “she” in a couple...Read full review »

Good voice acting, slow burn, and accurate representation of archaeology

Top notch production values, and I really like the alternating episodes that jump between a documentary-style podcast about the strange town of Weeping Cedars, which provides a skeptical eye to odd events, and the local news and night station, which is hosted by people who are more caught up in...Read full review »

This podcast sucked me in right from the first episode!
