Building nicely over time
As others have noted, this brilliant podcast runs on equal shots of H.P. Lovecraft, Twin Peaks and Thomas Pynchon. After 20+ episodes, it has also managed to sustain its absurd black humor. And there are recurring characters -- for instance, the terrible Glow Cloud that menaces Night Vale in episode two later joins the school board -- a happy ending! I would also strongly recommend "A Story About You," which is quite different than the other episodes but also quite good. Just don't get too attached to the radio station's interns.Read full review »

Runs the line between comedy and lovecraftian horror perfectly. Makes one uneasy and manic, in the best way possible.
