“The best way to listen to this show is to start with Season 3, they did commentaries for season 1 that are panned to left and right channels, giving the feeling of being in the middle of them on a couch, they're solid but not screen specifc at all, funny though. Season two was about deadly sins but didn't have a major Se7en tie-in, oddly enough. Season 3 is their best format, the two hosts gabbing about movies, usually horror films.
I only knew Joe and Patrick as guests from other podcasts, they're always delightful but together they make a great team, now you're going to disagree with them, a lot!
I'd say they both have about a 50% average for most listeners tastes and about the same when it comes to agreeing themselves, it might make you want to turn off the show and unsubscribe but don't!
They get very opinionated and sometimes one of them seems to be arguing for the sake of arguing, but in the end it's all delightful and part of the experience.
Fair Warning they will S on your favorite movie, tv show or music, it will happen and it can be unpleasant but when they say something great about an obscure gem you also enjoy, it's off the charts wonderful.
Even with Joe mixing up Justin Lin with James Wong and James Wan, then confusing the Saw Franchise with Final Destination in the same conversation it's still a 5 star show.
Just because Joe can't think of the name Thanos then mispronounces it when reading it from wikipedia and Patrick has no memory of him in any Marvel movie doesn't mean they're always lacking information or wrongheaded, sometimes they mix stuff up, again all part of the experience.
I started with season 3 and binged it over the past few days, then went back and binged all the earlier episodes as well, I hope they keep this format and never stop doing this show, it deserves so much more attention and they should be getting paid to make this, it's that good.
Once you get hooked you'll wish you could come over and watch a movie with the guys or just nap through blade runner with Patrick.
