“I love you guys and what you're doing to help bridge the cultural divide in our country. However, the dog beater doesn't "deserve" a job making millions of dollars and, by way of sport, becoming a role model for children. Like it or not, many kids look up to sport figures and envy their life styles. We have to be more critical of them simply because of the high profile nature of professional sports. There are others who can fill that slot that don't abuse animals, or women, or children. Talent shouldn't be the only criterion. Hell! Their cheerleaders have to meet a higher level of behavior and decency standards! Now, if he were to have been denied a spot on a team, been made aware of why his actions were unacceptable, AND of his own accord, sought to educate himself or went to anger management therapy, then he might deserve a second chance.
