“During the interview Trey touched on many different steelhead runs that are either going extinct or they are in jeopardy. His view of what is happening to the Thompson was very traumatic because it is apparent there is nothing that can be done based on the economic impact of attempting to save this run.
I am a native of Washington State, I grew up during the 60's when the dams were being built and the mitigation plan was that the power companies built hatcheries below the dams. We thought that our steelhead runs were protected and that they would last forever. Trey stated these facts as well as I have ever heard them explained.
