Amazing podcast! So well done, people STOP complaining about ads!! There is a 30 seconds skip right next to the Play/Pause button…hit it a few times and stop crying!!

I think there’s a repetition of same facts again and again and again that after a while you will not want to continue the story. Way too many ads as well. Had to stop listening to this podcast in between because it became so hard to continue with.

This could have been a good short run podcast but the ads are very excessive! 13-15 minutes of ads per episode.

There were times I cried, times where my jaw hit the floor. Great reporting and I hope Devin gets help so he doesn’t kill anyone else.

Love the podcast but sooooo many repetitive ads. Very intrusive. And the terrible shouty pair advertising The Iconic 400 destroy the listening experience. Most annoying is the same set of ads run at the end then again at the beginning of each episode.

Anyway…I like this host and season one was great. Season two was good but some episodes really didn’t have much info. Looking forward to a season three (I hope there will be one!). These topics are important to get out there!

This story could of gone without the awful drawn out music

Good show but spoilt by far toooooo many repeated adverts that interrupt the flow of the show.

Excellent work here. My heart breaks for Libby and her family. I am so grateful for the folks who put this important story together. Well done.

This is the best of this genre. It marries a mystery with an exploration of profoundly important societal issues: here, suicide, police sexual misconduct, and the devastating impact of failing to protect vulnerable young women who misplace trust in authority. The sensitive investigation and...Read full review »

I understand needing to monetize your podcasts.. but the number of ads is so excessive, I had to give up listening.

Really great storytelling, interviews were fascinating. Appreciate the care taken to give Libby a voice. My big issue was that each episode had at least 10 minutes of ads. I know ads are a necessary evil but boy this was too much.

This show hit so close to home for me, I listened to this while at the gym and had a couple break downs. Libby’s story is so heartbreaking and the women talking in the “Epiphany” episode made me think back to my abuse. I feel terrible for Libby no matter how she died, she was failed at all...Read full review »

Every couple of minutes there are several ads - more ads than actual podcast. NOT recommended.
deWe1013 via Apple Podcasts · Germany · 08/15/24
This leads you to believe something completely different than what this is about. The fist 7-10 min of every episode is commercials or the intro theme. This could have been done in 5 episodes but half of each episode is commercials. Not worth your time.

Decent content but the narrator was pretty dull and I found the voice itself a bit difficult to enjoy. The music throughout was super annoying. Ads were not relevant and excessive. I did a lot of fast forwarding and had it playing while cooking so it was fine for that but think the story itself...Read full review »

Sad but is anyone surprised? Police don’t want to spend much tax payer money investigating drug addicts’ murders.

The story really loses momentum and impact with 6 minute ad breaks placed 3x within a 37 min episode.
mmandylion via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/05/24
I thought it was pretty anticlimactic. It took 6 episodes before she even said anything about any legitimate evidence that made me think this case was worth investigating further. And there were sooooo many ads. All in all, didn’t really hold my interest.
KelseySomerville via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/01/24
I like your storytelling style, however starting an episode off with 3 minutes of ads and then 20 minutes later another 3 minutes is really exaggerated. I understand you need to make money on your podcast, but it’s really off putting.

Terrible and devastating what happened. Breaks my heart as a mom. I have to say that the theme song is beautiful.

ADS
The amount and length of ad breaks are annoying. The content is good but the ads from iheart make them not worth listening to. Many other podcasts available with minimal ads available.

Season 1 review. Pretty good, but it’s so repetitive. This is a podcast I keep on in the background while I’m doing other things because it’s easy to check out for a while and get back into the story. So many ads. What’s keeping me listening is the core of Sandy’s story. What a tragic case.

She was a victim. He was a criminal who died of a drug overdose. How offensive.

Well researched, empathetic and intelligent. My only feedback would be to encourage the host to pronounce her “t’s” as it takes away from the integrity of the presentation. For instance words like “Important” are not pronounced as “Impor-ent”. In time of really delicate conversations it sounds...Read full review »

I guess podcasters are trying to appeal to as many senses as possible since they are working without images, but sometimes the music is too much. It’s hard to process speech over music; sometimes it’s overkill on the dreary mood; and sometimes it’s just dragging on while you wait for the next...Read full review »

I would say that there is about a minute of commercials for every two minutes of content, which is really not bad. If you are able to constantly fast forward to skip through the commercials, it’s a good podcast.

Extremely well written, edited, and clearly articulated. Libby’s story will stick with me. I’m so sorry for her and everyone who loved her and was betrayed by the IPD. I hope every single person involved from her teen years till her death gets their karma sooner than later. I wish Cindy peace as...Read full review »

This is a sad and frightening story of domestic abuse!! So many red flags!! What’s even worse is that there seems to be no justice for Libby and her abuser moves on to abuse yet another. Because let’s face it.. he got away with it before. So he’ll for sure do it again! I thought the podcast...Read full review »

Wow, five minutes of ads at the start, several breaks with 3-4 minutes of ads. Couldn’t keep listening which is too bad because it seemed like it was well done.

I’m a few episodes in and already feeling that podcast/story is well investigated & compassionately covered by the host. I want to also say, I am a recovering addict and before it was even revealed in episode 1 or 2, I knew right away Devon was using meth, and I truly believe he killed her in...Read full review »

Ads
Love the show, love the host, the ads are insane. Come on guys..

Having read the reviews I didn’t want to judge too harshly before giving it a go, but unfortunately the ads just ruin this podcast. More ads than podcast and the same grating, annoying ones every 5 minutes mean I just couldn’t carry on. I know the revenues help keep the podcast going, but would...Read full review »

I appreciate the host, the content, and the message. But I can’t do another season of 30 minute episodes where at least half of it is ads.

I appreciated the insight and storytelling of both seasons thus far. Melissa has a compassionate voice for women who are victims of injustice and violence. George Floyd died bc of the fentanyl in his system. He also held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach during an armed robbery. Since you cover “violence against women” maybe cover that story

A mid podcast podcast keeps interrupting the ads. Narrators voice is not pleasing.

I realize ads pay for the podcast but this was crazy. The ad times add up to longer than the post cast time. Good podcast, kept my attention and wanting to get to next episode.
