I appreciated the insight and storytelling of both seasons thus far. Melissa has a compassionate voice for women who are victims of injustice and violence. Both Sandy Beal’s and Libby Caswell’s stories were heartbreaking to hear, but I hope the information in them will help someone listening to...Read full review »

George Floyd died bc of the fentanyl in his system. He also held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach during an armed robbery. Since you cover “violence against women” maybe cover that story

A mid podcast podcast keeps interrupting the ads. Narrators voice is not pleasing.

I realize ads pay for the podcast but this was crazy. The ad times add up to longer than the post cast time. Good podcast, kept my attention and wanting to get to next episode.

Ugg
Annoying music played all the time.

Before listening to any podcast I start by reading the comments. These say everything I needed to know: way too many ads. Know that by doing this you only keep potential listeners away

More adverts that podcast. Got as far as episode two and gave up.

This is an insane amount of ads. I listen to podcasts for 8 hours a day. No other podcast is like this. Otherwise, good show.

If you enjoy listening to ads this is for you. The story was okay. This victim was obviously murdered by her boyfriend and she never wanted help. Not much more to it, sad.

Good podcast, HOWEVER, Xavier is not pronounced “Ex-avier”. There are no words that start with ”x” that are pronounced “ex”. Hearing this beautiful name pronounced incorrectly is like nails having nails dragged down a chalkboard.

Her voice is easy to listen to and the info and story are relevant.

This is another example of why you should be a professional if you’re going to make a podcast not some Serial wanna be…The answers are so obvious and clear. They came for me hard in ep 7, the empathy for the other side. Absolutely incredible.

Could be an interesting podcast but the insane amount of ads make it hard to even follow the show. Seriously, this is, by far, the most amount of ads I have ever seen on a podcast.

Shame - as content great otherwise

Could have so much potential if there were not so many adverts. Too long. Disappointing because it’s a interesting case.

I am admittedly not a podcast person. I use them as entertainment when the situation calls for it. That being said, I found this podcast extremely entertaining. The story was such that I was surprised I hadn’t heard it before in a Dateline or 20/20 episode. The host did a fantastic job. She came...Read full review »

The ads are insane with this podcast. I haven’t encountered too many others with this amount of ads. It’s 2-3 minutes at the beginning, middle, and end, and most episodes in the first season were less than an hour! That’s ridiculous. Just hitting the skip button anyway. I wanted to listen through...Read full review »

Thank you for this podcast! It shook me to my core. Could not stop listening to it, literally stopped talking to my family and just binge listened until the last bonus episode. I really hope that Libbys case will be thoroughly investigated and those responsible for her death will be brought to...Read full review »

Great show, ads are brutal. 15 mins of each episode being the exact same ads for other podcasts is beyond annoying.

A truly offensive number of ads.

Great storytelling, interesting interviews. The amount and frequency of ads were very jarring though, and interrupted the flow. Possibly could have been 2-3 episodes shorter too.

Trying really really hard to remain impartial, but it is very obvious that the narrator has made zero effort to be impartial. I’ve actually never listened to a podcast where the narrator is just immediately contradictory of anything anyone says that doesn’t fit HER narrative. Two episodes in, and...Read full review »

Seasons 1 & 2 were both interesting and tragic for the victims and their families. I was particularly drawn to Libby’s story. The podcast is extremely ad heavy which is distracting and annoying.

Stopped listening as too many v long ad breaks and they’re all the same. Shame as would have been good

Would have been 5 stars but like others have mention, the ads are over kill.

As the title says. This show may be great—I have no idea—because the amount and the quality of ads make it unlistenable.

I’m Elizabeth Vera and Lauren Hansen and Melissa Jeltson used my voice in the episode in such a vile, horribly inappropriate manner. By putting it after “ we all love our abusers”- I didn’t, I was terrified. I was so disgusted by it that I couldn’t

Good content, great host. Way to many ADs. Can’t realistically think your listeners can get into a deep story only to be interrupted with irrelevant ADs.

While I have compassion for Libby and her family, she was an addict and in a high risk situation that even when offered help, she would not accept or change. Meth is an epidemic in MO and her story is likely one of many. I wasn’t sure if this was to call out police, the drug epidemic or the...Read full review »

Season 2 story is interesting and needs attention, but this podcast could probably be two or so episodes long if it weren’t for the hundreds of ads, unnecessary recaps, and long music
mary and joepesh via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/15/24
The show is good, once it gets started and in between ads. Each episode has 7 minutes of ads and repetitive content at the beginning. And then stops for long ads several times. I understand sponsors are needed but it’s excessive and distracting.

Tragic story that plays out too often in our society. However, it was very difficult to stay focused because of the ridiculous amount of ads before, in the middle, at the end of each episode. By the third episode, I just wants it to end so I wouldn’t have to listen to ads.

I understand that there will be ads, but running ads for 5 straight minutes made me lose all interest in the podcast

enjoyed season one, and enjoying two as well so far. i appreciate the effort and high-quality interviews from key people. however, the amount of ads are a little over the top, but that’s what the +30s buttons for, so it’s not the end of the world.

Intriguing story but ads run for minutes at a time interrupting the storytelling. I understand ads help produce the podcast but to start and end episodes with at least 2 mins of ads is ridiculous. Not to mention the multiple ad breaks throughout the show.

What happened to Libby is she became an addict and hung out with other addicts and adopted a high risk lifestyle. Those like the police and her family who attempted to come to her aid she rebuffed. That doesn’t mean she deserved to die but it did increase the likelihood she would die. We all...Read full review »

I cannot believe the amount of ads on this podcast! It’s sick. You’re talking about such a horrific story and grieving family then every 2 minutes there is upbeat music and 3 minutes of ads.
