“A children's TV show I used to love was called Play School - the show involved several teddy bears, two human hosts, a variety of differently shaped windows that you could travel through and a lot of singing. When I heard that show's opening theme I used to get an incredibly distinct wash of comfort and joy all through me (perhaps an early ASMR experience). I have never really experienced that feeling before from anything else until I started listening to this podcast. When I hear the opening chime of the theme song along with Larry's voice I feel that same wash of relief and security I felt when watching Play School at age 4.
This podcast is a true joy and delight.
The Henry Koperski episode in particular had me contacting my high school piano teacher to recommence lessons just so I can gather around the piano with my friends again the way we did when we were teenagers. This podcast manages to make you feel the warmth and wonder of singing with others even when you are sitting in a filing bay trying to alphabetise client records. Just lovely.
