Wow
This is such a fascinating podcast… love Scott’s empathetic and non judgemental approach. I’m always amazed that people expect you to be judge and jury when people tell you the things they’ve been up to. That’s not the point of this podcast! Anyway… Honestly shocked on listening to the being in foster care run that you don’t have post birth support! We, in the Scotland, UK, have a midwife for 10 days after birth then a health visitor for the child’s 1st 5 years. Of course we have a universal public health system. It’s not free we pay through a tax for it but We can access these professionals (specialised nurses) when needed but they have milestones to monitor so all children are seen and they work along side social workers in child protection cases. This helps parents who aren’t coping and can catch abuse early. It’s not perfect because we still have child abuse going on so I hope someone is looking into what system protects children more so that we are deciding based on evidence of improved outcomes.

We must all know what happens in cases like these. Thank you for putting it out there in such raw form.
