Raw interviews
I love that the host lets his guests talk freely… anything goes. He doesn't censor them at all, and I think that’s great! I genuinely want to give this pod 5 stars because of the amazing and empowering stories and what the show stands for. The reason why I’m giving the show 4 stars is because every other episode has had at least one moment where the guest or host says something that I thought was either inappropriate, bad, or non-helpful advice for victims. I believe in not censoring a survivor’s story for the sake of the listener but some of the things I’ve heard have lately have made me cringe. And I’m typically an unbothered person. Something I heard today: If someone offers you a lifeline you better take it right then and there or it might not be offered again? Not great advice for a person struggling to leave an abusive relationship. I understand that the person saying this is not a professional podcaster, they’re a DV survivor. But this is plain bad advice for a person suffering long term abuse and the host just agrees with her line of thinking. Maybe I’m being too harsh. I still love the show and will continue listening but wish that he’d make a few changes here and there to make the content more helpful to the audience he’s aiming toward. That would be awesome!Read full review »

This podcast is serving its intended purpose perfectly. I’m surprised at all the criticism about interrupting guests, as I’ve never noticed because the host’s comments and questions are insightful and based on his own tragic experience. Bravo to the guests and host!
