Fascinating
What an unusual beast this podcast is. Picking up on the great wave of amateur history podcasts, but doing something unique and pleasurable with it. This podcast, by maintaining a light, conversation style and visiting some of the lesser know (but still important) bits of history does something some don't - stay interesting 100% of the time. Zach skips all the bits where so-and-so begat so-and-so during a long period in which not much happened, instead, diving right in, throwing a bit of context around it, and doing the dramatic bits. Getting better. Stronger on the diplomacy than the military side, but has given me a much better insight into the background of some of the more obscure 18th and 19th C wars.

Really like the concept, as the title suggests it is when diplomacy fails we end in war. So I think it is important to know why we end in battle.
