Hands down the best podcast I know ( and I listen to a lot) . Catherine has such a lovely curious yet kind way about her and the results are just wonderful.

Fascinated by these magical interactions, I save episodes up so I can enjoy 3 or 4 at once. It’s never enough! Such gentle enquiries which bring out everyday intricacies. Catherine Carr is a master at work. It’s a treat of a podcast.

After hearing an episode of the podcast on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, I was hooked. What I love most is Catherine’s calm confidence when asking questions, and how she embraces her natural curiosity which allows her interviewee to be open and honest in return. It appears to have enabled...Read full review »

Finally got round to reviewing this podcast which I absolutely LOVE! With sooo many podcasts to choose from this one is a wee gem. The interviewees really are the ‘stars of the show’ however they only become so due to Catherine’s incredible interviewing style. She is always interested, respectful...Read full review »

Among all the doom scrolling of the news, this is a little ray of sunshine. By turns funny, silly, heartbreaking, often with a pup, always a little slice of humans being humans. I often listen to them two or three times. Please can we have an omnibus edition?

Like an podcast version of Humans of New York, Catherine has the ability to take a few minutes of people’s time to glimpse to their lives. Gentle, friendly and fascinating. Sometimes moving but always interesting.

As a big fan of Relatively, I already knew that Katherine had a lovely manner of talking and relating to people. WAYG is a tonic to my busy life. A slice of the world somewhere else. A reminder that everyone has a narrative and story, you just need to be curious to understand it. And brave...Read full review »

Seriously Catherine, what a wonderful project this podcast is. I went for a 10 minute walk in the warm drizzle of a Vancouver Island winter evening and started up an episode. An hour later and 4 episodes in I wanted to keep walking despite my aching legs! I found your podcast when I read a top...Read full review »

Catherine makes this so easy to listen too with her interesting questions, currently in Finland on holiday so know what you mean about the cold but I would enjoy it just as much at home curled up with the dog.

I am a guy, i don’t cry much and not often. The most i have cried lately was while i listened to this podcast on my way to work. No matter how happy or sad, stories are as genuine as it gets, so listening alone in the car is what i suggest to anyone new to this show.

This is such a lovely podcast. I’ve binged multiple episodes in the last couple of days. It’s really soothing - and reminds you of the humanity and good that exists in the world. And that everyone has their own story, if you’re just brave enough to ask.

I came across this show one sleepless night and was so taken by its gentle good humour that I was a little distraught when I couldn’t find it again. Brilliant concept, well executed and it has encouraged me to strike up genuine conversation with strangers I encounter in the wild.

This is such a simple idea really well done. It’s easy to forget how amazing people are and how our life stories can be so different, yet still reflect familiar and shared basic human needs. Here we are.

I live in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean this podcast still isn’t an absolute treat to listen to each day. I love that each episode is well under 10 minutes. A brilliant podcast! Love hearing everyone’s stories. I work from home and have this playing in the background. Made me look at people on the street more and wonder ‘Where are you going’ and ‘what are you doing’.
