Coming to this a few years late but a brilliant, empathetic and hard-hitting investigative podcast that’s still well worth a listen

Compelling, compassionate investigative journalism. Beautifully told account of the impact of a dreadful predator, with wrenching stories from the survivors. Highly recommend.

I used to work with survivors of sexual assault. Most never get Justice. Regardless, if these survivors never get to see Gibney go to jail for his crimes, they will at least know that he has been exposed, and on an international level. Their willingness to participate in this project, will...Read full review »

A horrendous turn of events put together in a very easy and interesting podcast to follow. It shows how easily horrible things can happen to anyone and what it takes and doesn’t take to bring the culprits to justice.

Just discovered this. Absolutely harrowing to listen to. But everyone should listen. If only the authorities were as brave as the Victims.

It's a deep telling of the story of victims of George Gibney, giving a voice to victims who have been overlooked by years, especially by the judicial system. But whilst it intimates that Irish Swimming was complicit in siding with George, this angle should have been probed more. What lessons...Read full review »

Absolutely heartbreaking! I’ve just finished the episode with ‘Susan’. My granddaughter just this afternoon, won in 2 of her heats and was 2nd in the other. She is 11 and loves swimming. How does one ever prepare one’s children/grandchildren for anything like this. Apart from the usual repeatedly...Read full review »

This is a disturbing story I was not familiar with. I give praise to those who carried through with this podcast and gave all of these victims a voice. It is a hard story to here but incredibly important.

Investigative journalism at its best: uncomfortable but important.

Brilliantly told podcast. Quality as usual from the BBC.

A very important story to tell, though I wish it had been executed better. It’s unclear why so much time was spent following/watching Gibney in Florida yet taking no action, and why this was even included in the final broadcast (mostly seems like filler content, designed to elicit suspense, which...Read full review »

Amazing podcast. Well worth a listen. From one brave person opening up to someone who listened and believed them, More people opened up to say that they too had been abused. And there were many! Unbelievable Ireland didn’t do anything and that he got away on a technicality. This monster,...Read full review »

The reporting in this podcast is so compassionate and thorough. It is a truly heartbreaking story though with some light for the victims that can support each other by telling their story and finally be believed. I only hope that this utterly horrid monster is finally brought to justice.

Thanks for giving voice to the survivors and for all who care about justice and about keeping children safe from predators like this man. Well done, professional and compassionate podcast done with such sensitivity. And much appreciation to those who shared their story in such a public way.

Brilliantly told, riveting. Some disturbing revelations. Best outcome would be renewed legal action and for this monster to face justice. So well done guys.

This is hard to listen to sometimes. After ruining so many promising young lives why is this criminal not yet arrested and charged for his unspeakable crimes? I hope this podcast can help bring justice for his victims, it is long overdue.

What a listen! Devastating story told brilliantly and respectfully. I binged it and had to hold back tears at times. Important to share, astonishing how misogynistic views were and in parts still are.

At times a hard listen as to what the survivors of George gibney went through as children and still going through as he walks the streets but wonderfully told and dealt with such respect. Couldn’t stop listening. Bingeworthy

A fascinating, heartfelt podcast on an evil person and the many victims he leaves in his wake. We need justice for all the victims. The fact that he is in the United States haunts me that his crimes continue. I hope the Irish government puts priority on the investigation so he can face justice.

If the Irish judicial system can’t deal with this. What about “Susan” who was attacked in Florida. Maybe the USA could send him away to a notorious jail for the rest of his life!
