So dram-atic, you'll want a re-peat! Cask, and you shall receive.
This is one of the most listenable podcasts available. The wife and I enjoy listening during car trips, sitting at home, or anywhere else for that matter. The interviews are amazingly entertaining, and all of the guests seem to have the gift of gab... a dream for both interviewer and listener alike. The host has a pleasant voice, and the rhythm of the news is wonderfully presented. Most importantly, the one obvious pitfall into which this podcast could have fallen was magically avoided: there is not a molecule of snobbery detected in any episode. The host interviews that world's best whisky makers and is himself a thoroughly paced whisky-man, but I defy any listener to produce a single sound-bite (sound-dram?) of pretense in any episode... it won't be found. The host seems to be the type of guy who would toast heartily to you whether you poured him a glass of $3 or $300... he is an advocate, enthusiast, connoisseur, and talented show host. I have played this podcast to several non-whisky drinkers, and they found it enjoyable, while whisky lovers found it simply riveting. Be warned: you will develop an unforgiving and angry thirst if you listen to this for more than 5 minutes. I recommend this podcast fully, including each back-episode. Not just the best whisky podcast, but probably the best source of whisky news and insider info on the internet - or off it. Covers all aspects of whisky and comes from a host not afraid to ask some tough questions. Each new episode is a highlight of my week.

The NPR of the Whiskey World. For the most part it’s relaxing and enjoyable, just like your favourite dram. However, I knocked off a star because the podcast is always looking for a way to connect their hate of President Trump and their hysteria over climate change to you drinking your dram. And...Read full review »
