Why...not boring at all!
I expected boring opaque history, and only listened to the episode about umbrage-taking because The Political Gabfest posted it to their subscribers' feed. I have great regard for John Dickerson, but ugh...history. But, to my amazement, John's passion for the minutiae brought the year 1840 (!) to life for me. Enthralled, I listened all the way through and then listened again. Newest episode about 1972 was fabulous as well. Complexities become simply delightful patterns on the tapestry of the time. I should've expected no less from John Dickerson & find I'm even more impressed with him than I was before, which is really saying something. Thanks for making history fun, sir!Read full review »

I love, love, love this podcast. He brings past Presidential campaigns to life with such energy and knowledge that I wish these podcasts went on for an hour! John, you are the best. Thank you!

One of the gems of any Political Gabfest is when John shares some story from politics of days past. Whistlestop is nothing *but* such stories. Fantastic!
