Slate outdoes itself again
Dickerson is the yin to Pesca's yang. Where Mike is meandering, bombastic, sarcastic, and intellectually elastic, John is crisp, clean, and focused like a laser beam on spinning a political junkie yarn. When The Gist premiered, it was Slate's best podcast. Whistlestop now wears that crown. Some days I feel like a Spiel, and some days I just need some good old-fashioned analysis of what makes Ed Muskie cry. Thanks, John.Read full review »

I fell in love with Mr. Dickerson in the Gabfest, and this new podcast is an absolutely BRILLIANT idea! John totally delivers, both with his storytelling and his analysis. A wonderful gift to us politics nerds!

Longtime listener of Political Gabfest and just caught my first episode of Whistlestop. I was very impressed and can’t wait to listen to the rest. Promising start for a new podcast with a host I already knew and loved. Great work!
