“If you've listened to Slate's Political Gabfest for years, as I have, and if you truly believe John Dickerson has made you a quantifiably smarter person (or at least more interesting at cocktail parties), as I do, this podcast is mandatory.
If you aren't familiar with the dazzlingly funny and concise mind of J-Dog, and are merely a fan of obscure-ish historical anecdotes related as well as they possibly can be, this podcast is a necessity.
If you're a simpleton with zero interests, who happens to be reading this review by some random accident, I still insist that you subscribe.
John Dickerson is one of our most precious links to a time long ago, when articulation and fairness mattered in media and reporting. If just a fraction of Our Modern Loud-News-Voices had John's thoroughness of thought, we'd be a better informed public. If only a handful of them could relate the past, as well as the present, with the passionate humanism and rigor for gorgeous detail that Mr Dickerson does, we'd all be quantifiably smarter AND more interesting at cocktail parties.
To the reader; Subscribe to this podcast.
To John: you've enriched my life-of-the-mind for years, and, for related reasons, I hope you outlive me. Thank you.”Read full review »

“These are wonderful TRUE stories that probably aren’t going to make it to the history books. Where we would find out about this stuff I don’t know. Wonderful anecdotes told by a master storyteller who is a scholar of politics and political history. Bravo.”
