I sat down again with my favorite no b******t polling analyst @realcarlallen because I'm on the ground in all the battleground states and it feels to me like Trump had the edge. Carl the pollster disagrees. So I pushed him hard to ease my fears. Have a listen.

It should matter. Character should matter. Integrity should matter. Decency should matter. But to way too many Trump supporters today, none of these traits matter anymore. None of them. Trump is an utterly horrible human being, yet, to his supporters, that doesn't matter. This is a scary place to be. A scary place for our entire country.

FEMA actually had to put out Hurricane information on their website as if they were speaking to five year olds. Mitt Romney thinks he's too damn important to publicly endorse Kamala Harris. And Kamala Harris can't ride a vibe to the White House. She's running against a lawless, un-American psychopath. She needs to act like it.

The only way Donald Trump can win is to poison the minds of enough Americans into believing that America is a s******e country, a failing nation, a dark dystopian place. His only hope is to find enough Americans to believe his lies, enough Americans to buy into the fear. It's a disinformation campaign the likes of which we've never seen.

It's a dangerous road we're on. You begin by disagreeing with someone on an issue, then you say they're wrong, then you question their motives, then you want nothing to do with them, then you hate them, then you call them evil, and then comes political violence. To survive as a free country, we must get off this road.

I sat down with @pasuburbsguy. We agree on most issues. But we disagree on Trump. HUGELY. So we sat down, to listen to each other, and to try to understand how and why we ended up on opposite sides this time around. Good, respectful conversation.

In making the case that Donald Trump committed crimes trying to overthrow the 2020 election, it was Republicans under oath who provided the evidence. It wasn't Democrats. It was people who worked for and believed in Trump who provided the evidence against Trump. Don't forget that.

It doesn't please me to say it, but JD Vance won that debate last night. He effectively normalized Trump. If Trump is normalized, he had a decent shot to win. Vance helped normalize Trump last night. Walz did a poor job of describing to the American people what a uniquely dangerous threat Trump is.

He's doing it again. He's saying the election is going to be stolen. He's saying the only way he can lose is if the election is stolen. He's laying the seeds to not accept the results if he loses. He's attacking our democracy and inciting violence. AGAIN. He's doing it AGAIN.

As we get closer to the election, Donald Trump continues to get darker & darker, and uglier & uglier, and more cruel & more cruel in what he says. It's all in a mad effort to scare the shit out of voters. Let's hope it doesn't work. Let's hope most voters see through it.

Our politics has been broken for awhile. Our political system is in desperate need of reform. Our political class hasn't been listening to the American people for a long time. So it's not a surprise that a horrible demagogue like Trump would come on the scene.

Another day of Trump bad-mouthing and blaming America. Kamala Harris should publicly accept the FOX News debate, What political courage looks like, and thank you Caitlin Clark

Like me, Mitt Romney believes Donald Trump is unfit to be President. And like me, Mitt fears for the personal safety of himself & his family if Trump becomes President. But unlike me, Mitt won't vote for Kamala Harris. He won't vote for the ONLY person who can keep Trump out of power. So...does Mitt really believe Trump is a threat? Does he really?

Chris Christie yesterday said Donald Trump is to blame for Mark Robinson. B******t. Trump isn't to blame. Republican voters are. They chose Robinson. Just like they chose Kari Lake. Just like they chose Trump. Respectfully, it's time for tough love for Trump voters.

Former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh and Fred Guttenberg have strongly opposing political views. Walsh is an ardent gun rights advocate, and Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter was killed in the 2018 Parkland School shooting, is a prominent gun safety activist. In this recording from the Hopkins Bloomberg Center of the live discussion between the two, moderated by Leah Wright Rigueur, a SNF Agora Institute Associate Professor of History, we hear from Walsh and Guttenberg as they tell...

Mark Robinson is no surprise. And the problem isn't that he wasn't vetted. He was better and Republican voters didn't care about the bad horrible stuff he's said and done. Kind of like how they are with Trump. The problem isn't Mark Robinson. The problem is the folks voting for Mark Robinson.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there's enough people who can't stand Trump that Harris can just ride the vibe to victory. But I think she'd increase her odds if she held press conferences and town halls. And...our immigration system is broken. It can't be ignored, it shouldn't be demagogued, it must be fixed.

Everything they say, everything they do is about dividing the American people. Maybe this will work again. But I hope not. I hope there are more Americans who don't want this country to be so dangerously divided.

For 9 years, all he's done is spew hate, spread division, and incite violence. Every day. That's what he's done. Gone after individual people and groups of people in hateful, dangerous ways. So it's not surprising that eventually a sick, crazy person would resort to violence against him. It's wrong. But it's not surprising.

It's time for Trump and any major party candidate for president to receive the same level of security that the sitting president and vice president receive. And I'm glad Trump is unharmed. And what happened yesterday doesn't take away from the fact that Trump IS a threat to democracy, and democracy IS on the ballot this November.

Two days ago, Donald Trump took a 9/11 denier with him to a 9/11 memorial service. He took with him as his special guest someone who believes 9/11 was an inside job, committed by our own government. And she was Trump's special guest at ground zero. So all we can assume is that Trump is a 9/11 conspiracist as well.

Springfield, Ohio is a city of 60,000 people with a population of almost 20,000 Haitian migrants. This current situation raises a whole bunch of important issues. That demand conversation. But trying to scare people about Haitians "eating people's dogs & cats" won't get us to any meaningful conversation

There is one big takeaway from the reaction to the Presidential debate last night: Trump has turned the GOP into a party of sore losers. PS They aren't eating dogs in Ohio

I sat down with Professor Ilana Redstone (@irakresh) whose book, "The Certainty Trap," just came out. If you care about how dangerously divided this country is, you MUST read this book. Healing the divide goes well beyond civil discourse. To heal the divide, we must transform how we think. Have a listen.
