I think there are better ways of summarising the complex information about waypoints. The stuff about altitude and white out isn’t as complicated as they think it is. Podcast could be about 2 or 3 episodes shorter if they cut the unnecessary details.

A respectful and comprehensive coverage of the disaster, aftermath, and recent government apology. Splendidly done.

41 years ago Flight 901 took off from New Zealand on a sightseeing mission over Antarctica with 257 people on board. 4 hours, 4 minutes and 42 seconds into the flight the plane descended; crashing into the lower slopes of Mount Erebus killing everyone on board and launching one of the biggest...Read full review »

I was a 15 year old English boy, living in NZ with my parents throughout 1979. We lived on the flight path of Christchurch airport and that fateful night, awaited hearing ‘the missing aircraft’ flying over us. Of course it never came. I have waited 40 years to hear this full and frank story....Read full review »

The flight number should be pronounced TE nine ZERO one. Not “O”.

A really interesting story, well told and presented. It not only offers an in-depth analysis of the accident but gives an insight into why this has been such a vexing topic for the people of New Zealand.

Thank you for this brilliant series on the Mt Erebus tragedy. I was only nine when this happened and had no idea this accident occurred. Your podcast was absolutely riveting. I wasn’t sure whether to watch the video of the final seconds of the flight, but I did. It’s just heartbreaking watching...Read full review »

An exceptionally well researched and documented exploration into the worst disaster in New Zealand’s history. Shocking and emotional for all who lost their lives. The production is great and we really appreciate the effort put into this podcast. Look forward to future projects.

the research, the findings, the Prime Minister! Kudos to this incredible documentation of a terrible miscarriage of justice done with insight and empathy

Starts off well but I'm halfway and finding it very tedious. Endless reporting on a royal commision does not make a compelling documentary for me.Read full review »

Agree with the preceding sentiments: A very well assembled production; very well piloted, indeed. I am glad it will be aired to New Zealand.

Really here to repeat what everyone else has already said! Never knew much about Erebus. That was tragic, interesting and a great listen all the way through while being respectful to all involved. Thank you!

Two episodes in and totally hooked. It’s wonderfully produced so far, with a deft handling of the technically complex elements. I’m an American listener and not all that familiar with the tragedy, but I also come to it as a true crime buff and aviation nerd. In Ep. 2, I was particularly impressed...Read full review »

This podcast was informative and very moving. I didn’t know much about Erebus before listening, despite having friends who grew up without their dad who died in this tragic plane crash. Thank you for telling this story and bringing to life the memories of all those involved.

Like many New Zealanders I’d heard of Erebus but was loose on the detail. A fabulous storytelling podcast equal in fact and emotion. I regularly felt moved and was gripped by the storytelling. High production values and a podcast to recommend to friends.
