Too short, too cheesy, tons of ads
- This podcast takes inherently fascinating stories and doesn’t do them justice. It’s like some investor somewhere thought we didn’t have enough time on our hands or long enough attention spans to listen to something for more than 20 minutes. They’re 21-23 minute episodes, but like 6-8 minutes of that is ads. - The narrator is trying to be real ‘dateline’ about it, but it’s just too much. She sounds like some hyper-exaggerated character from a carnival. Just explain to us what happened, like a friend telling us something interesting, and interview people for longer; let the participants and witnesses tell the story. - It also wastes a ton of time in its writing. Before every ad break, they do a snippet of what comes next, and a hook to get us through the ad break, like it’s a TV show. Then when it comes back from the ad, a recap. You don’t need to convince us to keep listening, we can skip ads. It comes off as desperate. Cumbersome to listen to

I want to love this podcast. I love the stories but does the narrator not realize how she is speaking and interjecting? She needs to listen back and realize how stupid she sounds! Who talks like this? It is not possible to listen to it is so incredibly annoying!!!

The podcast has a few episodes where the editing is really messed up, the end of the story comes before the middle.

The subject matter is very interesting but the narrator is incredibly annoying. Her tone is really strange, and it makes me wonder if it's an automated voice. It just doesn't fit with what's happening in the podcast.Read full review »
